The perceived object occasioned by the impulse or vibration of a material substance affecting the ear; a sensation or perception of the mind received through the ear, and produced by the impulse or vibration of the air or other medium with which the ear is in contact; the effect of an impression made on the organs of hearing by an impulse or vibration of the air caused by a collision of bodies, or by other means; noise; report; as, the sound of a drum; the sound of the human voice; a horrid sound; a charming sound; a sharp, high, or shrill sound. Wood also has natural qualities that make it great for absorbing reflective sound waves inside your box, so if youre thinking of sound quality, this is a great choice. In the case of the ported and bandpass enclosures, if the measured resonance frequency is not the same as the predicted resonance frequency, you can easily adjust the port lengths accordingly.

Divide this by 1,728 to get cubic feet and we add 0. Place a drop cloth over any dash, console or front seats that you want to protect from debris. Knowing how to build your enclosure is one thing, but when you truly want the best sound quality, you know that an amp (shown above) is necessary. There is no other way that you can really know how the speakers will sound to you.
Now that all of the harder work is done, we are on to the easier part. Mounting isnt much, but I have offered some tips that may help.
1. First of all you will want to choose where you want to mount the amplifier. Choose an area that has plenty of ventilation to prevent the amplifier from overheating. Some places you may like are the trunk, on the back of the rear seat, under the front seats or attached to the subwoofer box.
2. Before drilling any holes, carefully check the area underneath the vehicle where the amplifier will be mounted to make sure it will not interfere with wires, brake lines, fuel lines, the fuel tank or any other objects that could be damaged.
3. Using the shortest screws possible, mount the amplifier how the manual from the manufacturer tells you to.
Tip 1: To avoid drilling into your vehicle, place a board that is slightly larger than the amplifier underneath the carpet where you want to mount the amplifier. Then put the amplifier over the board and drill in the screws to mount it. The board will provide a sturdy foundation and prevent you from drilling unnecessary holes into your vehicle
Tip 2: In vehicles that dont have a trunk, mounting the amplifier to the back of the back seat is a good place to start. Check the seat movement and determine how the cables will connect to the amplifier before mounting it though.
Tip 3: If you decide to mount the amplifier under a seat, you have to check to make sure it has the proper height and depth between the floor and the seat.
