This is important when building a subwoofer because it is the electrical system that you have to make allowances for and this is the entire reason that you even have a car stereo that runs in the first place. In the case of the sealed enclosure, the resonance frequency can be adjusted by adding or removing stuffing material from the enclosure. The tone generator is a nice addition to it and is very helpful. We'll achieve this by using 3/4 " MDF for the enclosure with external dimensions of 15. Tip 1: To avoid drilling into your vehicle, place a board that is slightly larger than the amplifier underneath the carpet where you want to mount the amplifier. 0 - 1.

If we connect (2) four ohm speakers (R1 and R2) in parallel to an amplifier the total resistance will be:1/Rt = 1/R1 + 1/R2 or 1/Rt = 1/4 + 1/4 or 1/Rt = 1/2 Inverting the equation we get Rt = 2 ohms. For a reliable connection, it will be best to solder these. It should be a blue wire on an aftermarket radio. The perceived object occasioned by the impulse or vibration of a material substance affecting the ear; a sensation or perception of the mind received through the ear, and produced by the impulse or vibration of the air or other medium with which the ear is in contact; the effect of an impression made on the organs of hearing by an impulse or vibration of the air caused by a collision of bodies, or by other means; noise; report; as, the sound of a drum; the sound of the human voice; a horrid sound; a charming sound; a sharp, high, or shrill sound. Your headlights will dim to the beat. There are many pitfalls to mixing, laying, and shaping this material, so you should be prepared for it.

I have decided to list the steps in point form so that they will be easier to follow. Below are the basic steps that are involved in installing an amplifier in your vehicle. Some vehicles will require additional steps, but this will at least give you a good starting point.

Power wire connection/routing:
The power wire for the amplifier needs to be routed from the car battery under the hood to the amplifier and the steps for doing this are below.

1. Open the hood and find the battery. Disconnect the positive terminal from the battery.

2. Check to see how the amplifier power wire ring terminal will connect to the battery.

3. Crimp a ring terminal onto one end of the power wire. Cut the power wire approximately 6-8" long. Then you have to attach one end of the fuse holder to the other end of the ring terminal. Attach the other end of the fuse holder to the remaining portion of the power wire. DO NOT CONNECT THE RING TERMINAL TO THE BATTERY OR CONNECT THE FUSEHOLDER AND INSERT THE FUSE UNTIL YOU ARE READY TO TURN THE AMPLIFIER ON.

4. Decide upon a point in the firewall to run the power wire through to the inside of the vehicle. If its at all possible, run it through an existing grommet on the firewall. Usually there are more access points on the driver's side anyway. If there are no acceptable holes, drill one in yourself.

Install a grommet into the hole before pushing the power wire through to prevent damaging the wire. Before you run the wires through, you will have to double-check that you can reach the area of the firewall where the wires will enter the inside of the car. IF YOU HAVE TO DRILL A NEW HOLE IN THE FIREWALL, BE SURE THAT THERE ARE NO EXISTING WIRES BEHIND THE AREA WHERE YOU WILL BE DRILLING.

5. Under the hood, have to run the power wire from the battery to the grommet on the firewall. Just make sure that it is not in the way of moving parts on the engine, hood hinges or heat sources as the heat will cause obvious problems.

6. You must route and secure the power wire from the battery to the firewall. Use wire ties to help you to attach the power wire to other cables or fixed points under the hood.

7. Feed the power wire through the firewall. Be sure to avoid using sharp objects to push it through. You may need to use a knife or blade to cut the grommet so the wire will go through though.

8. Pull the power wire through the firewall from the inside of the vehicle until the extra wire is out from under the hood. Keep some slack in the cable inside the engine compartment so it won't rub or be tugged on.

9. Route the power wire from the inside of the firewall to the location of the amplifier. Typically the power wire will go behind the kick panels, under the doorsill, and into the trunk.

10. Now you have to apply caulk to the opening in the firewall where the power wire is going to be inserted so water will not leak into the vehicle's interior.

That is all it takes in order to get your amplifier installed. Now it is on to taking out your old radio.
