You can use L-brackets for this which is good enough or you can remove the drivers and bolt the box directly to the vehicle. This is particularly true if you are driving an older model car. If your radio does not have audio outputs of its own, you will need to purchase an amplifier that can accept a speaker-level input or you will have to get a converter that will convert a speaker-level signal to an audio cable signal.

Basically it will provide you the additional capacity to run your stereo longer without starting the vehicle. An amplifier turn on wire will also have to be connected behind the radio. Alternator Most of the time that you find that you are experiencing frequent dead batteries, this is a sign that your electrical system isn't keeping up and you may need to upgrade your alternator. For example, if you need to figure out the current (amps) moving through a 12 volt circuit and you know the resistance of the circuit is 4 ohms; the equation would look like this: E = 12volts I = unknown R = 4 ohms I = E/R or I = 12/4 which is I = 3 ampsP = E*I (power equals voltage multiplied by current or watts = volts amps).
There are quite a few different enclosure design software programs out there that can really make making your subwoofer box easier. The prices range greatly. You can find some freeware on the Internet, you can buy your software. As to which are better, I dont know, but here are some that are very much worth a good look, and they are meant for newbies like you.
Blaubox: This has been around forever it seems. This software was designed by Blaupunkt, and it's a DOS program and is very easy to use. This is the software I am most familiar with because I've been using it for so many years. It's free and definitely worth checking out. It even prints out the cut sheets for your car subwoofer box plans so that you dont have to.
WinISD: This is made available by the LinearTeam. I think that this is a very highly rated, free program. But I can say that it is worth checking out. The tone generator is a nice addition to it and is very helpful. It lets you hear what different frequencies sound like.
MacSpeakerz: this is a great program if you are using a Macintosh computer and If you dont have a PC emulator there is a program out called MacSpeakerz. I haven't used it personally but it's fairly popular and free.
